April Showers: this month's freebie ☔️ ARC contest 🌨 + more 🌈

April has been wild weather-wise in the Pacific Northwest. We've had drenching rain, pounding hail, and several snowstorms (that thankfully didn't stick). This is my 25th April in the Seattle area, and I can only think of about four times when it has snowed in April at sea level. Lucky for me, I work from home and have been snug in my office with my little heater as the weather sorts itself out.

What have I been working on, you might wonder... Well Toni Anderson and I are cooking up a BIG treat for you all in May, so be on the lookout for that in my next newsletter.

INTO THE STORM is off to my editor! We're in the final stages, and I've almost finalized the cover. This book is pretty much the perfect blend of both my Flashpoint series with the high-octane military thriller element and the Evidence series with the archaeology-influenced action and romance. 😍

The Ukrainian-style Easter Egg Auction raised over $1600 for Ukrainian Refugees with direct donations to UNHCR! Even though the auction is over, you can still donate. Every dollar helps people in desperate need.

The scars that cut deepest are the ones beneath the surface…

Detective Addison Hale is a survivor. The armor she uses to hide her scars keeps her safe on the job, and holding people at arm’s length is a small price to pay when there’s a stalker on the loose.

Especially since he’s after the sister of impulsive firefighter Ryan Dempsey, who she had a scorching-hot fling with two months ago.

The fling she can’t forget, even though she knows how dangerous it is to get close. To feel.

Ryan will do anything to keep his sister safe, even if it means he has to play by Addison’s rules. But when the stalker sets his sights on the smart, sexy detective, Ryan finds he’ll do anything for her, including risk his life to fight at her side.

But this enemy is as cunning as he is deadly and he’ll stop at nothing to get what he wants.

Addison and Ryan must outrun the shadows and outwit a killer.

No matter the cost.

Did you have a chance to see the Blood Moon total lunar eclipse on March 3rd? We had a great view of it from our rooftop in Okinawa. Unfortunately it clouded over before we got the tripod dialed in, but we were able to take this photo at the maximum total eclipse. I've been back in Okinawa for a few weeks and in addition to returning in time to see the eclipse, we also had family visit from the US and Taiwan. We had a great visit and I so enjoyed taking care of my 15-month-old grand-nephew. 😍...

I'm back in the US for a few weeks--I flew home at then end of January for a writing retreat in Southern California, which was glorious and sunny, but now I'm back in the Pacific Northwest and it's chilly here! This is, of course, to be expected, but most of my winter clothes are in long-term storage. Oops. Good thing I'm heading back to Okinawa soon! My writing retreat was fabulous--I had a great time talking business and craft with author friends who I've missed dearly this last year, and I...

Living in Okinawa, it's usually tomorrow for me as I connect with my friends and family in the US or watch live sporting events. This is my world clock on my laptop: All of Japan shares one time zone—Japan Standard Time—so I'm on Tokyo time. Most of my family, including my children, live in Pacific (Seattle) time. A sister lives Mountain (Albuquerque) time. I have a bunch of author friends who live in Central (Winnipeg) and Eastern (Washington, D.C.) time. You might wonder why I chose...
