COLD EVIDENCE is set in November in the Pacific Northwest. I wrote the final scenes in early November while staying in one of the cabins (described in the book) on the Pacific Ocean in the small town of Neah Bay. Just like in the book, there was a big storm that took out power for the entire area. I had already written the power outage scenes by the time I stayed at the cabin, but I used the experience to more accurately describe the town in the cold November rain. I believe in going the extra mile for research! 😉

The weather has finally cooled here in Okinawa and we're enjoying a lovely November. We set out candy on Halloween even knowing we weren't likely to get trick-or-treaters here. I managed to get a pumpkin from the base commissary, which my husband carved. He then decided it would make a good head for his new little buddy (which we've named Furlough Friend) to use while passing out candy. We even gave Furlough Friend locally-sourced, organically-grown hair, which I think looked great! Sadly, no one wanted Furlough Friend's candy. I wonder why? 😂
