It's that time again! Every 2 years, Romancelandia bands together to raise money to protect voting rights. The three previous auctions raised over a million dollars, and this year's auction is closing in on raising $125,000 as I write this. In 2026 Romancing the Vote is supporting Vote Riders and The Southern Coalition for Social Justice, two organizations experienced in fighting to make sure every person's vote counts. The auction opened on July 1st and closes on the 6th at 7:00 PM CDT. I've donated several items to the auction including signed copies of TINDERBOX, INTO THE STORM, and COLD EVIDENCE. The weather has turned pretty sharply in Okinawa this May. We had cool, breezy days for the first half of the month, but in the last 2 weeks the summer humidity has returned and we've had some dramatic rainstorms that triggered flood warnings on the Hija River.
