Everything but the lights on the tree and the foil wrappers on the presents is edible. And yes, we do eat it - but sometimes my husband brings it to the Navy base where he works and gives it to Marines to devour. The hillside is made of rice cereal treats and this year there is chocolate, plain, and fruity stratigraphy and an archaeological dig complete with bones and artifacts. Sugar glass lake, windows, and frozen Han Solo in the chimney.
I baked and cut the gingerbread and did some decorating of the interior walls. The vast majority of the assembly and decorating was done by my daughter. Husband did some interior wall decoration and oversaw the archaeological excavation.
