I'm back in the US for a few weeks--I flew home at then end of January for a writing retreat in Southern California, which was glorious and sunny, but now I'm back in the Pacific Northwest and it's chilly here! This is, of course, to be expected, but most of my winter clothes are in long-term storage. Oops.

Good thing I'm heading back to Okinawa soon!

My writing retreat was fabulous--I had a great time talking business and craft with author friends who I've missed dearly this last year, and I made a lot of progress on FALSE FLAG. I expect to write the ending in the next week or so (it would be sooner if I didn't have to travel back to Japan).

TINDERBOX Embroidery

My daughter has been working on making a laptop backpack for me with the TINDERBOX cover in appliqué and embroidery.

Here are some photos of the process, which is a lot like writing in that she needed to make a first draft and then tweak the settings on the machine to get everything to line up. The photo is from the first draft.

The video shows the machine at work on the second draft embroidering the helicopters.
